Between April 2003 and July 2006, the Network CONVERNET was run within the EU INTERREG III B Baltic Sea Region programme. 12 partners from all over the Baltic Sea Region and the Czech Republic joined up to exchange knowledge about conversion and to develop visions how to facilitate conversion of former military sites in the Baltic Sea Region.

Consequently the partners worked out the Conversion Handbook for the Baltic Sea Region and the "Regional Action Plan in the Baltic Sea Region" as main results.

The "Conversion Handbook" contains examples of practical conversion that are meant to inspire others as well as conclusions and recommendations.

The "Regional Action Plan" gives an overview about instruments available for conversion in the countries of the Baltic Sea Region, defines action fields and sets up guidelines that include concrete proposals for further activity.

Moreover, CONVERNET has issued three newsletters about actual issues of conversion in the Baltic Sea Region. The results of the work packages are documented in the work package reports.

Feel free to take a closer look to our results or order them!
