Brief description of the organisation's activities
Swinoujscie is sea-side city of 42,000 inhabitants, near the polish-german border.
According to Statute of Town Swinoujscie – Town Swinoujscie acts in own name and in own responsibility satisfies collective necessities of own inhabitants, realizes on own teritory public tasks such as expance development, economy of property, cultural activity, tourism, promotion of the Town, providing municipal targets. Municipality Swinoujscie is a owner of assumed property and areas from Russian Army, that is why it’s resposible for providing and development of conversion areas.
Conversion areas were returned by the Russian Army except Zdrojowy Park and fortifications ( XIX centry). The re-development has been finished partially or is still in progress:
1. The Zdrojowy Park (58ha) – a project to revamp the park has been prepared.
2. Former fortifications (20,6ha) – at present, a part of them, are on lease.
3. North Basin (11ha and 2km wharfs)– a stocktaking of buildings with technical condition judgment, judgment of wharfs to use them as marina have been made and three piers for yachts have been constructed.
4. Warehouse of arms and ammunitions, Petrol Laboratory, Wharf 91 and Mulnik Basin (76ha and 250 m wharfs) – thanks to regional, municipal and Polish government funds mines from Mulnik Basin have been removed, now Mulnik Basin, wharfs and adjacent sities still being cleared
5. Petrol Terminal (10,7ha) –sites polluted by petrol leaks have been cleared.
6. Hospital Complex (3,4ha+1ha) – documentation to redecoration, modernization and adaptation of buildings has been prepared, security works have been made also.
7. School Complex (1751m˛ +934m˛ ) –redecoration and modernization that complex have been financed.
8. The residential quarter and barracks ( 25 000m˛+ 20 000m ˛) - the residential quarter has been privatized – at present Posejdon quarter, barracks have been adapted thanks to financial support from Special Government Programme and municipal funds to the Centre of Municipal Administration.
