As a result of the project, a transnational network concentrating on the challenges and opportunities faced by municipalities and regions affected by the need to convert and redevelop former military sites will have been developed.
In a general level, this network will have developed a coherent strategy for addressing the issue of base conversion and will have developed transnational contacts, a "conversion community" in the Baltic Sea Region (WP1). More concretely, the "case studies" of WP2-5 will result in documented best-practice examples of conversion in different environments. Based on the experiences, reuse and redevelopment concepts will have been developed, strategies outlined and policy-relevant documents elaborated on a local and regional level.
The results of the work packages will form the basis of a regional action plan for conversion in the Baltic Sea area.
The results and conclusions will be disseminated within the network as well as being made available to other interested parties - such as municipalities and regions affected by conversion but who for various reasons were not able to participate in the project at this stage - and the general public.
